Rush is getting more reissues on vinyl and hybrid SACDs

Two facts: (1) Rush hasn’t been this hot in years, and (2) Rush fans will buy ANYTHING that’s on offer. They’re that loyal and devoted.

In addition to the continuing parade of box sets (the latest was a fantastic Grace Under Pressure set), Mobile Fidelity Sound Lab, a California company known for issuing records of the highest standards of audio quality, has announced a giant multi-year reissue series covering Rush’s catalogue from 1974 through to 1985. The first releases will be Fly by Night (1975) and A Farewell to Kings (1977).

What does that mean? High-quality vinyl pressings that cut the albums into 2 x 45 RPM discs along with SACD (Super Audio CD), a higher-resolution version of the compact disc that’s remained a niche format. You need a player capable of handling SACD discs; a regular CD player won’t cut it.
