Russian Band 208 Talks of Angels Records with Pearl Jam Drummer and Who Keyboardist

According to Aeroplan, I traveled a little more than 120,000 miles on Star Alliance partners this year. Add in all the other flights I took and my 2015 mileage is somewhere around 150,000. Most of that travel was business-related and for me, that means music-related.

I’ve developed a real fascination, appreciation and fondness for rock made outside the traditional territories of North America, the UK and Australia. It’s a big, big world and there are plenty of interesting stories to be told.

For example, I’ve been in contact with 208 Talks of Angels, a Russian band from the city of Izhevsk who are hell-bent doing some pretty ambitious things. Their latest creation is an 80s-style song complete with the long-distance help of Dave Abbruzzese (ex-Pearl Jam) and John “Rabbit” Bundrick, the guy The Who goes to when they need keyboards.

From what I can tell, Dave and John didn’t actually travel to Russia but collaborated with the band over the Internet. Let’s give it a listen.
