Sales of Taylor Swift’s Life of a Showgirl drops 92% in its second week, but…

Earlier this month, Taylor Swift’s Life of a Showgirl broke records for first day sales, first week sales, and a couple records when it came to vinyl. It seems that pretty much every Swiftie in this second of the Milky Way got their copy, so no wonder week two sales are down.

LoaS sold 338,000 copies in the US, which is down 92% from its debut week. But that’s still far, far more than any other album. It’s still number one. It’s also the fifth-best week for any album so far in 2025. Morgan Allen, The Weeknd, and Sabrina Carpenter had bigger numbers earlier (as did LoaS in week one, of course).

Another thing: No one wants to put out an album the same week as Taylor Swift–would you?–so she pretty much had the runway to herself.

The new question is, how many weeks will LoaS spend at number one? Morgan Wallen’s I’m the Problem spent 12 weeks at the top of the Billboard album charts, although those were non-consecutive weeks. But looking ahead, there doesn’t seem to be any albums on the schedule that will trouble Tay-Tay’s run at the top.
