Saturday is Cassette Store Day. Why?

My feelings about this stupid cassette revival have been well documented (Go here for a refresher on why cassettes suck.) Yet there are people around this planet who believe that this format needs to be resurrected for some nonsensical nostalgic reasons.

In fact, this Saturday is the biggest day on the revivalists’ calendar. Cassette Store Day will be celebrated (what inappropriate word) at stores in the US, UK, German, Australia and New Zealand. As things stand, no Canadian store has lost its freakin’ mind enough to buy into this hokum.

If you click on the image below, you can see how awful their website is.

Urban Outfitters is apparently on board. Stores have a brand new cassette section. Silly people.
