Sexual assault trial for former Hedley frontman delayed until 2022

Jacob Hoggard was originally slated to stand trial this year on accusations of sexual assault.

But it was announced Monday that his trail will be delayed until at least next year. 

Global News reports Hoggard previously pleaded not guilty to charges of sexual assault that caused bodily harm in addition to sexual interference and his trial was supposed to begin in Toronto this month. However, a new date was scheduled for April before being rescheduled for January 3, 2022. New jury trials in Ontario, including Hoggard’s, have been delayed due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, Global News says.
