Shazam Now Listens for EVERYTHING

I love Shazam. Anytime you need a song identified, this little app comes in real handy. I used it when watching TV and I want to know the name of a song in a show, movie or commercial.

The only hassle is that when it comes to commercials, you need to have your phone RIGHT THERE so you can fire it up in time to tag the song before the spot ends.

Shazam understood this was a problem so they set to work on it. Now the iPhone app “listens” for songs in the background, even when the unit is locked.

And it works everywhere. Let’s say you’re in a bar or club for a couple hours. Theoretically, Shazam will hear all the songs played that night, giving you a full playlist by the time you get home.

Must test this.
