Short List for the 2015 Polaris Music Prize Announced

Come September 21 at the Carlu in Toronto, one of these album will be declared by a jury of twelve hardcore music industry people to be the best of the year. That comes with a $50,000 cash prize. The nine runners-up will each receive $3,000.

  2. BADBADNOTGOOD & Ghostface Killah – Sour Soul
  3. Braids – Deep In The Iris
  4. Caribou – Our Love
  5. Jennifer Castle – Pink City
  6. Drake – If You’re Reading This It’s Too Late
  7. Tobias Jesso Jr. – Goon
  8. The New Pornographers – Brill Bruisers
  9. Buffy Sainte-Marie – Power In The Blood
  10. Viet Cong – Viet Cong

Wow. A tough, tough call. This might be the most hard-to-predict Short List in the history of Polaris. A couple of my picks made the cut, but it’s going to take some hard work to narrow down to my pick for the winner. Listen to all the albums for free here.
