So What Will They Be Selling on Cassette Store Day?

The first-ever Cassette Store Day will happen September 7.  This is silly given that cassettes are a piece of 50 year-old technology that deserves to go the way of the 8-track and 78 RPM shellac record.  But as manufactured as this bit of nostalgia seems to be, a lot of people apparently want to buy into it.  Fill yer boots, I say–but I won’t be participating.

If you still pine for those wretched, poor-sounding plastic things, here’s what you’ll be able to buy. Further details (if you must) at Spin.

  • Unlike record store day no big names. Looks like smaller bands trying to do something to get noticed. Not that there's anything wrong with that.

  • There's a Suicidal Tendencies cassette! I'd go buy that. I doubt any store in Edmonton would participate.
