So What’s Up with Pearl Jam These Days? Well, Here’s Something.

By Kristian Johnson

It’s been just about two years since Pearl Jam dropped their 10th and latest album, Lightning Bolt. While the band has been fairly busy, having spent a lot of 2013 and 2014 touring Australia, North America, Europe and South America in support of the new album, they were able to break for the 2015 and focus some side projects.

There’s plenty going on though to keep all the Ten Club die-hards entertained. Back in January Mike McCready joined Barrett Martin for a Mad Season reunion show, accompanied by Duff McKagan, Jeff Ament, Matt Cameron, Stone Gossard, Chris Cornell and the Seattle Symphony Orchestra to celebrate the 20 year anniversary of the band’s album, Above. Now you won’t have to hunt through Youtube videos to get your fix of this all-star concert as the band released the album on August 28th, alongside a rerelease of the Mad Season: Live At the Moore.

That’s not the only all-star gig for Mike McCready though, he joined Barrett Martin, Mark Arm and Duff McKagan on August 23rd, where they slammed through a setlist of Iggy and the Stooges classics in order to raise $260,000 for Seattle’s local station, KEXP.

Mike McCready will be rejoining the band to headline the Global Citizen Festival, an event to raise money to end extreme poverty, in New York’s Central Park alongside, Ed Sheeran, Beyonce and Coldplay on September 26th.
