The Secret History of Rock

Some Artists Just Attract Crazy Fans

Sometimes, music fans can get a little scary. A rule of thumb is the more intense the group, the more intense the fan.

If you’re going to use that formula as a benchmark, you’d think that Nine Inch Nails probably attracts a fair number of over-the-top whacko fans.

Well, you’d be right. Trent Reznor one received a letter from two fans that sounded normal enough. It said “Hi Trent, we’re you’re biggest fans….You’re the greatest…We love all your stuff….blah, blah, blah”–typical fan mail stuff, right?

But what set this letter apart from most is that it was written entirely in blood.
