Someone has been arrested in connection to mysterious needle pricks at a Montreal music festival

A couple of years ago, fear spread across France after club-goers and concert attendees reported getting dizzy after feeling as if they were pricked by a needle. Some sicko (or sickos, more likely) were poking people with a syringe loaded up with some kind of noxious substance.

Last month, the same issue appeared at the ÎLESONIQ EDM festival at Parc Jean-Drapeau in Montreal. At least six people said they felt a “sharp prick” in their back. A few of them got dizzy.

Police and harm reduction groups were called in, and an investigation was launched. This resulted in the arrest of a 33-year-old man in Ottawa last month. He was released but has been ordered to appear in court in April. He will answer charges of armed assault and administering a noxious substance.
