Songza vs. Rdio vs. Deezer vs. Galaxie vs. Google Play. Who Will Win Canada?

Yesterday at Canadian Music Week, representatives from the streaming music services currently in Canada assembled on a panel to talk about how things are going.  Canada.com reports:

With Google Play Music finally entering the Canadian market, streaming music service Rdio, one of the first platforms of its kind available in Canada, now faces growing competition and a quickly crowding marketplace that now includes competing companies like Songza,Google Play MusicDeezer CanadaXbox Music and Sony Music Unlimited.Streaming music via the internet seems to be the way of the future and Rdio wants to be as synonymous with the concept as Netflix is with streaming television and movies.

And let’s not forget that iTunes Radio is coming to Canada at some point this year.  Plus there are rumours that Spotify negotiations to come into the country are back on.  Continue reading.
