SONOS now offers Alexa integration

Full disclosure before we begin: I’ve had SONOS gear running in my house for a number of years now. And now, I think I’ve going to have to invest in a SONOS One with Alexa.

As of yesterday (February 27), SONOS One speakers are Alexa-enabled, meaning that SONOS have finally joined the smart speaker revolution. This is important for existing owners, because the new integration allows for voice control of all parts of an existing SONOS installation. I’m going to put it in the kitchen where its microphones can hear me anywhere from the kitchen, dining room and great room.

For example, I can say “Alexa: Play my backyard playlist on the patio.” Because I have a zone defined as “Patio,” that’s where the music will go. Meanwhile, my wife will be able to say “Play my Outlander podcast in the dining room” and SONOS will do as it’s told.

More details here. And if you already have an Amazon Echo, you can do this.
