Spotify is 20 years old. Who are the all-time streaming champs?

In April 2006, a new company called Spotify was registered in Sweden. Although it didn’t go live to the public until October 2008, this month marks the company’s 20th birthday.

In honour of that, Spotify went through all its data to identify the most-streamed songs, albums, and artists from those two decades.

  1. Most-streamed artists:
    • Taylor Swift
    • Bad Bunny
    • Drake
    • The Weeknd
    • Ariana Grande

    • Bad Bunny, Un Verano Sin Ti (2022)
    • The Weeknd, Starboy (2026)

  3. Most-streamed songs:
    • The Weeknd, “Blinding Lights” (5.38 billion streams)
    • Ed Sheeran, “Shape of You” (4.88 billion)
