Spotify Testing Out New “Driving Mode” to Battle Distracted Driving?

One of the great concerns about the increasing amount of tech in cars is the distractions they cause. Texting behind the wheel is bad enough, but what about poking around on your phone for that Spotify playlist you want to find? Bad idea.

Spotify is said to be working on a “driving mode” feature which involves larger buttons for the UI and features voice control plus song announcements by the app.

From The Verge:

Photos posted by Reddit user Chris54721 show the new user interface, which features a car emblem in the bottom right corner of the now playing window, allowing users to enable the driving mode. Doing so enlarges the forward and backward buttons, and adds a microphone which theoretically would allow you to ask for songs to be played. Spotify can also announce the next song so you don’t have to look down to check the title.

 Interesting. Read more here.
