Stage collapse at a Spanish EDM festival leaves one dead, 40 injured

DJ Miguel Serna was in the middle of a set at the Medusa Festival near Valencia, Spain, on Saturday night (4:18 am August 13) when the weather turned ugly. Temperatures suddenly started to climb and the wind picked up. Debris and tents were blown all over the place. There was so much dust that it was like a sandstorm.

With 50,000 people on-site, a big gust of wind he the festival, causing the main stage to collapse.

It was chaos. A 22-year-old man was killed while at somewhere around 40 people were taken to the hospital, three of whom had serious injuries.

Organizers posted this.

The rest of the festival was canceled. The Spanish National Guard has been called in to investigate.
