Stephen Hawking FINALLY Says What He Thinks About the Zayn Malik/One Direction Crisis

I was wondering when Professor Hawking would weigh in on the matter.  Buzzfeed Australia reports from a Hawking lecture in which he took this question from the audience:  “What do you think is the cosmological effect of Zayn leaving One Direction and consequently breaking the hearts of millions of teenage girls across the world?”

His answer?

Finally, a question about something important.

My advice to any heartbroken young girl is to pay close attention to the study of theoretical physics. Because one day there may well be proof of multiple universes.

It would not be beyond the realms of possibility that somewhere outside of our own universe lies another different universe.  And in that universe, Zayn is still in One Direction.

If you’re heartbroken and need comfort, do what Professor Hawking suggests and jump into the Many Worlds Interpretation. (By the way, an early proponent of this theory was Hugh Everett, the father of Mark Everett of the band Eels.)
