Stephen Hawking Rawks!

Few people realize this, but the world’s most famous wheelchair-bound big brain is also a major music fan. Depeche Mode holds a special place in his heart.

When Orbital, the UK electronic duo, was invited to perform as part of the opening ceremony of the 2012 Paralympics, they turned the stadium into a (non-working) replica of the Large Hadron Collider.  And if you’re going to invoke particle physics, it’s only fitting that you put in a call to Dr. Hawking.
