Stephen King and John Mellancamp Collaborated on a Musical? Really?

Apparently, yes.  This collaboration escaped my attention, too.

It’s called Ghost Brothers of Darkland County and it’s been in something of a development limbo for quite some time (Okay, it’s been 13 years).

However, come next spring, there will be a soundtrack featuring everyone from Elvis Costello to Taj Mahal.

Meanwhile, talks continue with investors about bringing the whole thing to Broadway sometime in the not-too-distant future.

What’s it about?  A novelist and a musician (they’re brothers) battle over (a) a woman; and (b) the affections of their parents.
