Stranger Things has created another global viral music hit. And it’s a weird one.

As Kate Bush continues to cash cheques from Spotify and iTunes after “Running Up That Hill” blew up globally after it was featured in season four of Stranger Things, Metallica is starting to see the same thing.

If we refer to episode nine, Eddie Munson, the metalhead of Hawkins, is seen shredding a solo in the midst of a hellstorm of bats that’s referred to as “the most metal concert EVER!” It took a while for the internet to identify what, exactly, Eddie was playing. Turns out it’s the solo from Metallica’s 1986 classic, “Master of Puppets.”

Once that became known, Stranger Things fans started streaming the song like crazy. This eight minute metal tune has a chance of making it into the top 10 on Spotify’s US song charge and is approaching the top 25 on the Global Top 50.
