Surprise! A lot of people want concert tickets as holiday gifts (and other musical shopping hints)
To the shock of no one, a new study (and yes, it’s one of those surveys that’s actually an advertisement for something) has determined that concert tickets will be on a lot of Christmas lists this year. One in six people, in fact. At least in America.
- Number one on the concert ticket wishlist is Taylor Swift. I know. I’m shocked, too.
- Country music fans have signaled that they will spend the most on gifts this years (US$553).
- Classical music fans are the cheapest when it comes to gift spending (US$296)
There’s more to this study, too.
- Nearly 1 in 5 Americans say holiday music playing in stores makes them want to leave or avoid entering.
- Americans are inclined to leave stores when metal, gospel, hip-hop, or rap is playing.
- Nearly half of Americans experience buyer’s remorse, with hip-hop/rap fans (54%) most likely to experience it and metal fans (19%) the least likely.
- Top holiday song for retailers? Tony Bennett’s version of “Winter Wonderland” followed by the original “White Christmas” by Bing Crosby
