Teenager Has CD Collection and Stereo Seized for Playing Adele Too Loudly

Eighteen year-old Thomas Alcock of Dewsbury in West Yorkshire loves music.  But out of the 200-ish CDs that he owns, he loves his Adele records the best.  He loves listening to songs like “Some Like You” WITH THE STEREO TURNED UP VERY, VERY LOUD.

Understandably, this caused great annoyance for his neighbours.  They called the cops.  After the first complaint was filed on November 7, 2013, the local council warned Alcock that it would take action against him if he didn’t stop with the loud music at all hours of the day and night.  He apparently didn’t get the message.

A judge then ruled that all of Alcocks music be seized, including his stereo equipment.  He’s also been ordered to pay a £110 fine, £140 costs and £20 victim surcharge.
