The Alphabetical Archive for 22 August 2012: Jesus Jones

At one time in the early 90s, these guys were my favourite British band.  (I know, I know.  I mostly stood alone on this issue.)

Everyone knows “Right Here, Right Now,” the big single that was used in a lot of TV commercials, including several for AT&T.  But this was my favourite single from Doubt.

Back tomorrow with a pick from section K.

I have to agree with you, when this came out I couldn't get enough of it. Very catchy.

The Soup Dragons even had a hit with "I'm Free". Most of mainstream America loved these tunes, but didn't realize that these bands were riding the wave of Madchester

  • I was always partial to "Blissed" off that album:

But their follow-up was terrible and then they waited five years for another album after that — which was surprisingly good. Couple of good singles and a couple more album tracks on that one, but by then their fanbase could have fit in a Volkswagen Jetta (I was in the front passenger seat).

I have their Perverse CD in my car right now. That's right. A CD. You heard me.

The lead track on that album was horribly prescient for a 1993 release.
