The Ballad of Genesis and Lady Jaye

Fans of industrial music are well acquainted with the influence and contributions of both Throbbing Gristle and Psychic TV.  The man (uh, former man–but I’ll get to that in a second) behind both was Genesis P-Orridge.

For years, Genesis’ companion was Lady Jaye, a former dominatrix and nursing school student.  Together, they devoted their lives to produce a third entity–a third sex–by merging with each other, not only psychologically but physically, too.  Their “pandrogynous” creations were a real-life flesh-and-blood art project that extended even beyond the point of Genesis getting breast implants.

A film based on their relationship, The Ballad of Genesis and Lady Jaye, has finally opened wide.  Here’s the trailer.
