The Beastie Boys’ Paul’s Boutique Reconstructed from the Original Samples

At first, it was considered a commercial failure because it didn’t sound like Licensed to Ill.  But over the years, the Beastie Boys’ Paul’s Boutique has become legendary as people began to realize how far ahead of its time it really was.

You couldn’t never make a record like this today.  Clearing the samples would cost millions.  Yet it’s because of this density and meticulous production that the album continues to fascinate even today.

DJ Food, DJ Cheeba and DJ Moneyshot, three turntablists from the UK, spent three years re-coding and re-constructing the album.  The result is amazing.
