The Beijing Underground

I’ve been to Beijing a couple of times and once had the privileged of going clubbing with Seymour Stein, the founder of Sire Records and the man who signed the Ramones, Talking Heads, the Pretenders and, er, Madonna.  He also brought The Smiths to North America.

He remains very, very high on the prospects for alt-rock in China.  Here’s a look and listen to some of what’s going on over there.
