The Cure is having fun teasing a new album. Here’s a summary of things so far. [UPDATES!]

It began with some postcards mailed to people around the world. I, for some reason, got one. I have no idea how I ended up on their mailing list. This is one of the first places we learned about an album called Songs of a Lost World, which will be released on November 1.

Before long, billboards started turning around in various places around the planet.

And then this appeared on social media.

We got some coordinates: 53.8159° N, 3.0552° W. That’s the Blackpool Tower in Blackpool, England. Robert Smith was born in Blackpool. Could this hint about a gig there? Perhaps at The Empress Ballroom?

Now fans are getting WhatsApp messages.

It’s all quite a bit of fun, innit?

The latest info on a new song called “Alone” will be released on Thursday through Fiction/Polydor. Further details on the album will also be released on Thursday. Here’s another clip.
