The Cure’s dazzling Songs of a Lost World concert

I was lucky enough to get a ticket for last night’s (November 1) Cure show at the Troxy in London for a special concert unveiling the group’s first album in 16 years, Songs of a Lost World. Robert Smith and his crew played for three hours, starting with a full run-through of the whole album followed by two separate sets of hits and deep tracks.

If you’re a fan, you’ve probably read the reviews elsewhere. And yes, they’re all correct. It was a brilliant night. Scroll down to the bottom to see video of the full show.

Here are some shots I took from way up in the Circle Section, high above the floor and behind the VIP area (which included Billie Joe Armstrong, Tim Burgess, Boy George, Pedro Pascal, and, I’m sure, a bunch of others.) Ticket prices were extremely reasonable and the most expensive piece of merch was a very nice hoodie for 40 quid. God bless Robert Smith, right?

And if you missed the show, here’s the livestream.
