The Diddy verdict is in! Here’s what the jury said.

Sean “Diddy” Combs was on trial for racketeering, sex trafficking, and kidnapping, among other things. After a very long trial in Brooklyn, the jury returned these verdicts after 13 hours of deliberation.

  • Count 1: Racketeering and conspiracy. The juryt apparently had real trouble on this one, but in the end, they voted NOT GUILTY.
  • Count 2: Sex trafficking of Cassie Ventura. This is a prostitution offense. NOT GUILTY
  • Count 3: Mann Act transportation of Cassie Ventura. GUILTY
  • Count 4: Sex trafficking of former girlfriend “Jane.” NOT GUILTY
  • Count 5: Mann Act transportation of “Jane.” GUILTY.

The jury has been dismissed. Diddy’s lawyer has asked for his release from jail on a US$1 million bond. The prosecution wants him to stay in jail pending sentencing. Prosecutor Maurene Comey says the state will ask for the 20-year maximum sentence for Combs.

This story will continue to develop for a while. Meanwhile, the judge has warned the jury to expect a LOT of press attention.
