The “F**K OFF!” Headphones/Eye Shades
[Some soon-to-be-submerged atoll 153 km north of Male in the Maldives] – After close to 24 hours of flying and layovers, I finally made it to this little sandbar off the northwest coast of India. Many of those 24 hours involved trying to get some kind of sleep while wedged in an economy seat.
I always, always bring eye shades and a set of in-ear headphones (I found some sweet Shures that work great) in an effort at sensory isolation. And because I was seated just a couple of rows behind business class–I swear I saw a stripper pole in that cabin–the last thing I wanted to be remind of was how much worse it is flying steerage.
Opening my email, I found this recommendation from Andrew. The next time I fly, I gotta get me some of these. Read about them here.
I'm pretty sure you won't be able to fly over the USA with that thing. Not because it's weird or anything, but they seem suspiciously a little too pointy… 😀
