The Floss Dance is here. No one is sure why.
I’m not sure of the purpose of the floss dance, but it’s now a thing. Apparently, it’s best done while wearing a backpack. Here are the requirements:
How to do the floss (Via Metro UK)
- Put on some music
- Put on a rucksack (optional)
- Stand with your knees ever so slightly bent
- Put your hands in fists
- Place your arms, relaxed, at either side of your body
- Begin to swing your arms left and right around your torso in the opposite direction to your hips
- Keep doing it Increase speed and bend knees occasionally for effect
- After building confidence, you can also bring in other moves with your arms if desired, but this is not mandatory.
For example:
;
Not sure if this is why it’s a thing now, but the first time I remember seeing it was on Katy Perry’s SNL performance last year. The kid doing the floss dance was easily the most entertaining part of the episode, and it wasn’t even a terrible episode.
