The former CEO’s Coldplay kiss cam lawsuit is probably dead on arrival: experts

One of the great memes of the summer was when Astronomy CEO Andy Byron was caught canoodling with his HR person, Kriston Cabot on the Coldplay kiss cam. This exposed their affair and saw relationships explode. Byron also had to resign as CEO.

Since then, he’s threatened to sue Coldplay for…something. Defamation? Invasion of privacy? And while chatter about such a lawsuit has gone viral, the case has virtually zero chance of succeeding, regardless of in which jurisdiction it’s filed.

Why? Because when you’re out in public at a concert, there is no reasonable expectation of privacy. Besides, Coldplay (specifically Chris Martin) didn’t act with any malice and did not knowingly mischaracterize anything about the Byron-Cabot relationship. Any viral talk about Coldplay being in trouble is completely misinformed. Public perception is, in a word, wrong.

Dellino Family Law conducted a study into the situation.

Good luck, dude. Your case isn’t going anywhere.
