The Hottest New Drug in the Clubs? Seriously?

Club culture has always come with its own buffet of psychoactive chemicals.  But in India, they do it differently.

The new high is coming from cheap drugs known as K-72 and K-76 which contain–wait for it–cobra venom. The pills, which cost as little as $40 each, act as sensation-enhancers and boost energy, which allow for long, long hours of dancing.

Police in New Delhi recently raided a home and seized half a litre of cobra venom.  You may ask “Where the f**k do you get something like that?”  Simple:  you have to capture and kill the cobras.

The issue is not only with the hallucenogenic nature of the resulting drug but with the cobras themselves, which are listed as “highly endangered” in India.
