The Independent Label Market at NXNE

This is North By North East week in Toronto, which means the city is going to be crawling with musical types going to gigs, seminars, parties and special events.  And many of them are open to the general public.

Case in point:  The Independent Label Market.  On Saturday, indie labels will take over Ryerson University’s Campus Common in downtown Toronto on Saturday (June 15) to sell their stuff directly to the public. It’s like Record Store Day Part 2.

Participating labels includ Paper Bag, Arts & Crafts, Outside Music, Dine Alone, Last Gang, Static Clang, Nevado and Maple Music with more to be announced soon.  This is an outgrowth of a similar event that launched on Berwick Street in London in 2011.

Here’s a video that shows one of the UK events.
