The internet loves that Green Day has been booked to play the opening ceremonies at the Super Bowl

MAGA tears have been flowing since the NFL announced that Green Day will perform at the opening ceremonies of the Super Bowl in Santa Clara, California, on February 8. It’s gotta be the NFL trolling Trump.

I’m trying to imagine the meetings with Billie Joe and Co. with the NFL: “Oh, yes, sirs, we’ll be on our best behaviour! No, sirs, we won’t embarrass the president.” Meanwhile, all their fingers and toes were crossed.

Meanwhile, back at the concert:

Green Day isn’t a fan of that Nazi ghoul Stephen Miller, either. This past Saturday (January 17), they went after Miller and the whole administration. Billie Joe also had a few things to say about what’s going on in Minnesota. (Fun fact: Billie Joe’s wife is from the state.)

The internet is loving all this, hoping and praying that Tom Morello makes a guest appearance. And a verse or two by the Dropkick Murphys would be nice, too.

I’m confident that Green Day will do the proper punk thing. They’ll never have a better chance.
