The latest Astroworld update: A tenth person has died and Drake went to a strip club where he dropped $1 million

A tenth person has died from injuries suffered at the Astroworld Festival in Houston earlier this month. The latest victim is nine-year-old Ezra Blount.

The little guy was there with his father, Treston. He was up on dad’s shoulders at the back of the crowd when they were both unexpectedly and involuntarily swept up in the crowd surge towards the stage. Treston was squeezed so hard that he lost consciousness and Ezra fell to the ground where he was trampled.

Ezra had been on life support and in a medically-induced coma since that night. But there was nothing he could do and he died.

Meanwhile, it’s reported that Drake, who was onstage with Travis Scott as the tragedy unfolded, first went to an after-party at a Dave & Buster’s location before bolting for a Houston strip club called Area 29 where he spent a reported–wait for it–US$1 million. Meanwhile, eight people were already dead and 300 were injured.

Here’s an Instagram post by Drake’s buddy, DJ Akademiks.

Whoa.

Not a good look. More detail here. If you’re wondering about the legal fallout from all this, check out this report. More than 110 lawsuits have already been filed with more coming.
