The Latest “Dave-Grohl-Is-Awesome” News Features Forgiveness and Redemption

We all have someone we remember as being a dick to us when we were young. Because I was a nerd in high school, I amassed a very long list. I often wonder what I’d do if I ran into any one of these people today. How would you react? I’d like to think I’d take the high road and be cool about it, but I can make no such promises.

Dave Grohl, on the other hand…well, you can guess how he handled a situation like this. Back in high school, he had a musical rival/enemy named Chet Lott. In grade nine, Lott’s band beat Dave’s in some kind of battle of the bands contest. Dave was royally pissed and never forgot that loss.

But all hatchets were buried last Wednesday (October 7) in Memphis when Dave found out that Chet was at the show. He invited Chet up onstage and…

By the way, Chet is doing okay these days. He’s the son of former Republican Senate leader Trent Lott and has managed to record some tunes on his own. He’s not Dave Grohl, but who is?
