The Mahones Win International Award for Best Punk Album

The Mahones–best described as the Pogues’ (slightly) more sensible Canadian cousin–just had their record, The Black Irish, named as Best Punk Album at the 11th annnual Independent Music Awards. The even honors the best in indie muisc from around the world.

Run by the people who publish the popular The Musicians Atlas database, entries came in from Canada, the US, the UK, Australia, France, Israel, Mali, Ukraine, Egypt, Norway, Colombia and dozens of other countries from around the planet.
