The Mercury Prize shortlist is out
The Mercury Prize is the inspiration for Canada’s Polaris Music Prize: A juried competition to determine the best album of the last 12 months regardless of genre or commercial success. Music wonks from across the UK nominate, vote, and then vote again to come down with the shortlist of 12 finalists.
There are lots of first-timers and emerging artists on this year’s list. Time for some music discovery, innit?
