The “Mirthmobile” from Wayne’s World is up for sale

Remember this scene in Wayne’s World with Wayne, Garth, and his buddies in Garth’s 1976 AMC Pacer? This one bit did more to repopularize “Bohemian Rhapsody” than anything else.

That car is known as the Mirthmobile. It not only has been preserved but it’s going up for auction through Barrett-Jackson. There’s no reserve on the car with a guide price of US$71,500. That’ll be the most ever paid for a Pacer.

You should know that the AC was removed. There’s a hole in the roof for the licorice dispenser. Plus various parts of the body and chassis were modified to facilitate the movie shoot. Still, movie history, right?
