The Neil Peart memorial in St. Catharines is in trouble

Since 2019, people in and around St. Catharines (and even Buffalo) have been trying to raise funds for a Neil Peart memorial in his hometown. Designed for Lakeside Park (of course), it’s an ambitious project that includes sculptures like this.

Unfortunately, fundraising has bogged down since it was launched last September. About $120,000 has been raised when $1 million is needed. Now the city is reassessing the viability of the entire memorial project.
