The new Decemberists album features a semi-secret anti-Trump message

The Decemberists released their eighth album, I’ll Be Your Girl, on Friday. The digital version and the CD are pretty much normal, but it’s a different story with the vinyl edition.

The area on an LP between the grooves and the label is called “dead wax” or “run out grooves.” There’s a long, long history of artists, producers and mixers-mastering technicians using that space to etch messages. The Decemberists have jointed that tradition by offering support to Special Counsel Robert Mueller, the guy leading the investigation into Donald Trump.

Another album that’ll never get play in the West Wing.
