The next Nine Inch Nails gig is…unexpected

As Trent Reznor and Nine Inch Nails continue their tour, fans are looking forward to the soundtrack he and partner Atticus Ross created for the new Tron: Ares movie. This is a Disney product, so you know what that means: a new ride at Disney World.

The Tron Lightcycle Power Run roller coaster in Tomorrowland will also get a soundtrack inspired by the movie. So yeah, Nine Inch Nails is now part of Disney World.

The announcement was made via DisneyParksBlog. I quote:

“Replacing the blue and orange hues of the ride, you’ll weave through twisting tunnels of vibrant red and orange light trails, feeling the rush of wind and the surge of acceleration as you compete in a dazzling Lightcycle race.

“The striking red hues in Tron: Ares within the digital realm contrast sharply with the classic blue tones of the Grid. Adding to the immersive visuals, the pulsating industrial sounds of Nine Inch Nails will drive the ride’s energy, pushing your experience between the Grid and reality into a fully immersive, futuristic symphony of light, speed, and sound.”

The call this an “overlay,” meaning that it’s a temporary thing. The Nine Inch Nails soundtrack for the ride will debut at Disney World on September 15 and at Shanghai Disney on September 16.
