The One Minute Music Book Club: Bowie’s Bookshelf–The 100 Books That Changed David Bowie’s Life by John O’Connell

David Bowie was a voracious reader. He’d read about everything, absorbing knowledge and opinion and then transmuting that into music. John O’Connor has compiled a fascinating list from Bowie’s library and calls it Bowie’s Bookshelf: The 100 Books That Changed David Bowie’s Life, today’s pick for my One Minute Music Book Club.

What kind of books, you ask?

  • A Clockwork Orange by Anthony Burgess (duh)
  • Lolita from Vladimir Nabokov
  • The Iliad (yes, Homer)
  • White Noise by Don DeLillo

It’s a FASCINATING list. Anyone know of a book club built around this book?
