The One Minute Music Book Club, ep. 14: An expose of the music industry.

The late Hunter S. Thompson is famous for this quote: “The music business is a cruel and shallow money trench, a long plastic hallway where thieves and pimps run free and good men die like dogs. There’s also a negative side.”

This book by Hank Bordowitz, Dirty Little Secrets of the Record Business: Why So Much Music You Hear Sucks, gets deep into that. This should be required reading for any musician. It’s also enlightening for the music fan. Recommended.
