The One Minute Music Book Club: NEU KLANG (a history of krautrock)

Krautrock is a uniquely German creation. Following WWII, young German boomer musicians were looking to create a sound and approach that was different from what was happening in the UK and the US. Beginning in the 1960s, krautrock (a term bestowed by the English music press) gathered steam and resulted in groups such as NEU!, Kraftwerk, Can, and so many others.

NEU KLANG by Christopher Dallach explains everything, including why and how krautrock spread out from Germany, eventually influencing thousands of artists worldwide.
