The One Minute Music Club: Buzz Me In – Inside the Record Plant Studios

The Record Plant was one of the greatest and most legendary recording studios in the world. After it opened in New York City in 1968, it was a go-to facility for artists like Jimi Hendrix, David Bowie, The Rolling Stones, Bruce Springsteen, John Lennon, Paul McCartney, Bob Marley, The Velvet Underground, and hundreds and hundreds of others. So many legendary records were made there.

The Record Plant branched out to other locations in LA and the Bay Area, but only one still exists today and under a different name. The original Record Plant closed in 1987.

This book, Buzz Me In: Inside the Record Plant Studios by Martin Porter and David Goggin, looks at the glory years and the studios’s legacy. If you’re a nerd for studio stories, you’ll love this.
