How well do you get along with your sibling (assuming you have any, of course)? Brothers and sisters can be a pain in the ass, especially when you’re always in close quarters. And if you have to work with them? Fuhgeddaboutit.
Take the Everly Brothers. After a speed-fueled breakup in 1973, Don and Phil talked to each other just once in the following ten years–and that was at their father’s funeral. Ray and Dave Davies of The Kinks cannot stand each other. John and Tom Fogerty of Creedence Clearwater Revival. Barry and Robin Gibb of the Bee Gees. Chris and Rich Robinson of the Black Crowes. The animosity between Jim and William Reid of the Jesus and Mary Chain was legendary. And I know they weren’t really brothers, but Joey and Johnny Ramone didn’t talk to each other for decades after Johnny stole and then married Joey’s girlfriend.
But the most famous musical sibling rivalry in recent years as been the non-stop battle between Liam and Noel Gallagher. This is part two of Oasis at War.
