The Ongoing History of New Music, Encore Presentation: The History of Indie Rock, Part 3
On part three, we’ll look at the strides indie rock made towards widespread recognition and respect in the 80s, thanks in large part to some very key indie labels, some very important bands (bands that we’re still talking about today) and campus radio stations, which went a long, long way to making sure this music was heard. This is the era that set the stage for the Alternative Revolution of the 90s.
