The Petition to Stop Phil Collins’ Comeback Fails

The cool thing about Change.org is that people can launch a petition to protest against just about anything. One of the more amusing petitions of late was one demanding that Phil Collins stay retired.

Phil Collins petition

Phil Collins has announced he is ‘no longer in retirement’.
There is far too much suffering in the world as it is.
This must be stopped.

Organizers needed 5,000 supporters to take this thing to the next step. Sadly, though, they fell short by 648 people. Bring on the “Sussudio.” Meanwhile, here’s someone who believes that Phil is completely underappreciated.

  • Well, that’s just ridiculous! The guy is an amazing drummer, and he’s had so many hit records, and he was able to walk into Peter Gabriel’s shoes in Genesis and take them to new levels of success they probably would have never achieved without his pop sensibilities. I saw the Trick Of The Tail tour, and it was fantastic. I don’t like everything he’s done. I missed Gabriel’s theatrics and really “out there” songwriting, but it fit the 80’s perfectly. So there are actually people out there who would say they don’t want to hear him play “In The Air Tonight” again live. They are liars!!
